I won the vtwonen Advanced Blogger Award 2016!

So happy, humbled and honored! This weekend I won the vtwonen Advanced Blogger Award 2016 with my blog JOELIX.com. It was such a surprise, because I was shortlisted together with two very talented blog colleagues: Marij from My Attic and Suzanne from &Suus. They both create beautiful content for their blogs and social media and totally deserved to win. So while I was expecting that the award would go to Alphen aan den Rijn (where they both live), Carlein Kieboom, editor in chief of vtwonen, announced me as a winner! So cool! These were her kind words:

Earlier that day, Igor and I presented our Urban Jungle book to the audience of Meet the Blogger and signed copies together with our book illustrator Saar Manche! It was so good to hear all kinds of feedback on the book, the photos, the illustrations… And of course we shared a few quirky details from the bookmaking process too 😉 As you can imagine, it was a very nice, yet exhausting (I lost my voice again…) day! A small impression:

Winning the vtwonen Advanced Blogger Award feels like such a wonderful token of appreciation of my work as a blogger. Even though this past year I've worked so much more on UJB-related projects, it's great to know that my dear blog is appreciated by professionals… and you! Thank you so much!!! Now I'm off to edit hundreds of photos from this summer in Spain, Germany, France and Holland. I have so many things I want to blog about!
