Today's Urban Jungle Bloggers Plant Shelfie topic made me realize that we really need some new beautiful shelves. We don't have many wall space here at home and only a few basic Ikea lack shelves, which I really don't like anymore. But well, for now we have other priorities. Like a bathroom for example! Because, yes, let's face it, it's been a mess here for a little longer than expected 😉
So back to my #plantshelfie. I built a little installation with some random shelves, broke a plant pot and the plant inside also lost a few branches. This is what was left:
My favorite new postcard illustrated by Daniel Frost I got at You Can Now in London this weekend:
My beloved Minolta, I need to get me some film and start using it again:
Another new thing at home: the Typodarium calendar for 2015 that my husband bought for me. It's a tear-off calendar with a daily dose of typography.
And proof that Urban Jungle Bloggers is really a lot of fun, also behind the scenes, this is what my installation looked like:
Will you show us your #plantshelfie too? We will pick 5 winners with the best plant shelfies and they will receive a little something from us! You can join until November 15th, can't wait to see yours!

Hahaha I love your DIY shelf for your plant shelfie!!! And I love that the yellow theme is continuing like a thread through your stylings! Let's see more plant shelfies!
So much plant shelfie goodness today, right?! Yesss, I'm a bit on a yellow stroll again. Just when I was completely bored by yellow a few months ago. Maybe it has something to do with my need for sunshine ;)
Nothing like some creative DIY – fabulous! Sorry to hear about the mini accident.
I hope you guys aren't like some friends of mine who live in a house in the country. After 30 years the husband finally finished their bedroom and dining room:-))
Glad you got to go to YCN and I like Daniel Frost a lot too.
Loving the yellow calendar. Well chosen R.
As always enjoyed prepping for this post! x
Well, we've been in this adventure for almost ten years now and I'm sure it will never be really finished, always new ideas and things to do around here. But after the bathroom (and the roof and and and) I think we'll be done for a while ;) Yes, I went back to YCN to get me some more Daniel Frost cards & wrapping paper. Loved it! Thanks for your sharing your shelfie and the introduction to Herbert!
Oh, and don't start me with the Minolta. I still have mine too:-))
Hihi, I've been wanting to re-shoot again with it for quite a while, but have to get some film first. Do you ever use yours?
I love the installation shelves
Merci :)
Hahaaa, oh I love that behind the scenes photo! So funny. Beautiful colours on those grey/purple plants. Have a good weekend, Judith! x
Thank you Yvonne! So nice that you're part of our green adventure again (of course!). Very dark & moody! Enjoy your extra long Sunday!
Hi Judith,
finally I´m taking part again! I love the “shelf”-idea, but what I love even more, is your DIY -shelf! That made my day :-D!
Your pictures are wonderful, and your opuntia is awesome! I cut one “ear” from a cactus in Portugal this summer, and now I´m WAITING ;-)!
have a good time an shank you for sharing and organizing
Liebe Grüße Barbara

Wonderful that you joined us again Barbara! Love the colors and structures! Nice that you brought home a cactus cutting from Portugal. It may take some time (until springtime) because sometimes they go into hibernation, so be patient and don't overwater. You'll see he'll grow some roots in 2015 ;) Enjoy the extra long Sunday!
how cool is your installation, very creative :) my shelfie comes a bit belated but daylight was rare you know ;) greetings julia
Yes, and the days are becoming so short that soon we won't even be able to takes picture anymore, except for Christmas lights in the dark ;) Thank you for playing along again, Julia!
Haha brilliant Judith, your final photo is perfection and says it all. It would be fun to work with film again, kind of mysterious.. Big hugs. Mel x
Yes, I've been wanting to work with film for quite a while now, but always forget to get some film. Thank you for the kind words, Mel! xx
I love how you made it look so 'fresh' with the greens & the yellow. Do get some film for your Minolta it's so much fun to shoot analog.
Thanks Saskia! You're right, I should definitely get myself some film, I remember I loved the process of being more concentrated when taking a picture (in stead of having the opportunity to crop and enhance in Photoshop later) and to wait a little bit before seeing the results. Have a nice end of the week :)
I LOVE your wonky shelf Judith! Thanks for sharing, it made me smile xx
Oh I know what you mean about living with mess! I still have a pile of bricks in the middle of my reception! I love your shelf installation. It's so inventive and original. Another great UJB entry xD
ah ah ! Mortel l'envers du décor, Je ne pense jamais au jaune, toujours présent chez toi, grace à toi je vais finir par adorer cette couleur !
