I missed out on the huge exhibition by Anish Kapoor for Monumenta 2011 in the Grand Palais in Paris. The photos featuring the exhibition are amazing; the color of the 4-armed balloon goes so perfectly well with the green construction of the Grand Palais. And the inside is just spectacular. I got more familiar with the work of Anish Kapoor in the early nineties when visiting the De Pont Museum in Tilburg, the Netherlands. Descent into Limbo (’92) is very intriguing. From a certain distance, it looks as though there is a black spot on the floor, but when you come closer you realize it is actually a deep blue hole. You cannot see how deep it is because of the pure pigments capting all the light.
